Elections

On behalf of the PASC Council, we hope you will join us!

Each spring, an election is held to replace council members whose two-year terms end with the close of the fiscal year. The nomination process begins at the start of the spring semester.  All professional administrative staff with a minimum appointment of 0.5 FTE are eligible to nominate colleagues or submit self-nominations.  Newly elected members begin their two-year terms on July 1, following transition meetings held in May and June.

Election timelines are established and finalized prior to any voting activity. All relevant dates will be announced at least 30 days in advance of the scheduled vote. If PASC does not achieve a two-thirds majority vote, the election chair will consult the council to request an extension.

To uphold the integrity of the Election Communications Committee, the Chair of PASC and the Secretary of PASC (who serves as the Elections Chair) will each have access to the voting results.

Participating in elections is a fundamental responsibility of all PASC Council members.

PASC membership is comprised of all professional administrative employees who hold at least a .50 FTE professional or administrative assignment during the academic year.

Nomination Guidelines:

  • Both nominees and nominators must be UNC professional administrative staff with an appointment of at least .50 FTE.
  • You may nominate one or more eligible colleagues from any division.
  • Self-nominations are welcome.
