DORA PRESTON was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. After marrying in the 1950's Dora and her husband, John, made their way to Canada, where she raised two children and found her calling as a care aide and advocate for the elderly. In addition to her career, Dora's life as a writer always remained central. Her poetry and short stories have appeared in magazines, literary journals and newspapers, winning her numerous awards including First Prize in the Heritage Awards and Honourable Mention for Prose in the Cecilia Lamont Literary Contest.
Her novel, Everything's Coming Up Clover, is a collection of diary entries, which recount a year in the life of Clover, a cantankerous diva placed in a retirement home against her will.
